Art & Design
At South Stanley Junior School, we aim to provide the children with a range of artistic skills in line with the national curriculum. Our curriculum is designed for the children to build upon their previous learning within school and encourages them to be creative. The children will work on their skills in the various areas of art across the term, building to produce a final piece at the end. Art in school is not simply drawing and painting, we also focus on sculpture, printing and digital media to name a few. In line with the national curriculum, the children will also be learning about famous artists of the past and present. Some of our art topics allow the children to explore these artists and recreate their work adding their own spin.
