PSHCE/RSE
At this school, we aim to provide children with an understanding of the world around them; to help
them to accept differences in religion, gender and race and to give children the skills for life to keep
them safe, have meaningful relationships and to understand what a bad relationship is, in addition
to what they need to do if they experience these things. We want them to understand that everyone
is different and that we should accept people for who they are. The children will learn about how to
earn and look after their money, how to pay for things and the different costs involved in running a
house. The children will spend time looking at how to maintain a healthy body and mind through
exercise, diet, hygiene and good sleep routines. Time will be spent looking at the dangers of
smoking/vaping, alcohol, taking drugs and being involved in anti-social behaviour. We also want to
teach children the dangers of life online and how to stay safe on the internet and in social media.
Our curriculum aims to give our children the information and skills to make informed decisions as
they go through life and where to seek support if they need it.
